Are you struggling to make ends meet after Christmas? Well you’re in very good company; many of us have not only overspent at Christmas but also have to deal with the rising cost of food, energy and insurance.
However, you don’t have to start 2012 on a downward spiral! There are many ways in which you can curb your expenditures, giving you the time you need to get back on your feet.

I am still wide awake and it is almost two o’clock in the morning. I have no clue why sleep had eluded me last night, because for the past few months I had been nothing short of narcoleptic, at least figuratively. I had been sleeping at almost the same time every night and enjoying a ten to twelve-hour slumber. Not to mention my afternoon naps.
So why am I still up at this God forsaken hour?
Maybe it is something I ate last night. The thing is, I only had taco soup. I had eaten the dish many times before, and never had any effect on me, or my sleeping pattern.
Maybe it isn’t the food itself, but the quantity I binged on.
Maybe it is the new game I got and I wanted to get ahead already.
Maybe it is the idea that came to me earlier in the evening, which excites me to no end.
Whatever it is, it got me writing here; finally letting y’all know I’m still kickin’.
Hey.
How’s everyone doing? It hasn’t been very busy around here, but I’m enjoying this very relaxed atmosphere at home. I like it so much. I’ve been spending my days reading, cooking, crafting, watching DVDs and TV (I’m addicted to Dexter, Food Network and Lifestyle channel again), curating the Personal Finance Software section of Gizmo’s freeware and being mom.
I still sleep a whole lot, but I’ve managed to fix my body clock. I now sleep before 9 pm, and wake up no later than 7 o’clock the following morning. By the time I step out of my room, the house is clean, my plants have already been watered and breakfast is waiting for me. The new maid is so freaking efficient.
We’ve put up our Christmas tree, but we’re not done decorating it. I’ve been practicing making huge bows I can put on the tree.
Not bad, huh?
NB. goodsamers.com has a nice roadside assistance plan. Check ‘em out.
It’s always a good thing when children are kept busy. They are not only productive, but they also learn and, the best part of it all, there’s no screaming and running around. No room for chaos.
Some time last month, we began making Jello.

NB. This is a scheduled post. I have written several posts for this week and will be published on a schedule until I get back on Wednesday.
Since I have Mozzarella, Cheddar and Apetina here at home, I decided to make 3-cheese pizza. I didn’t make them with the usual pizza crust. Instead, I used French Baguette.
It was so easy to make and tasted really yummy, so I am very sure that ordering in will be less frequent from now on.
Look at this. It hadn’t been popped into the oven and it already looked heavenly.
And now… the gooey, cheesy awesomeness.
I’m sure you’re hungry now.
Well, I’m off to do more mommy duties. I need to sort a lot of things out (which oddly includes tire chains) before I head on for my trip. See you.
