Ack. Insanely hot today. So of course, off to the mall we went – for a dinner and a movie.
certainly has become our favorite restaurant
But first we had to drop off some dirty clothes to the laundromat. I just had so much cleaning to do that sending them off to a laundromat meant so much to me. One less chore to do.
So this was what happened.
We drove. Entered SLEX. Anson dropped by Starbucks at Caltex plaza for Mocha Frappe. Totally forgot there’s Starbucks at ATC, where we were heading off to. Hah!
Went walking around the mall. Visited Olympic World to see if there were any new Oakley slippers on their shelves. There’s none. I left the store feeling low.
Let Alex have a go at the playground in the activity center while I enjoyed some bubble tea. Zagu’s mango flavor is one of my faves.
Had a discussion with Anson about where to eat for dinner. North Park? No, I didn’t fancy Chinese tonight. Fish & Co.? We weren’t sure if there would be anything for Alex there. Mexicali? Well, we just had Mexican the other day. So of course, we have to go by the default – The Cafe Mediterranean – our favorite.
And now… tonight’s feast…
Lentil Soup
Quattro Formaggi
Borek
Tunisian Fish Fillet
Pudin di Limon
When we ordered our dessert, Pudin di Limon, we realized that we have tried all but two items on their dessert menu – Tiramisu and Chocolate Fudge Cake. This is because Anson doesn’t really have a thing for Tiramisu and we’re not so thrilled with chocolate cake, as you can find it almost everywhere. And so, we have decided that our favorite dessert from Cafe Med is the Pudin di Limon, the next would be Baklava, while third place goes to Tartufo al Cioccolato. Oooh. Such sweet heaven.
Anyway, we decided to watch Thor already because we have been hankering to do so since it opened in theaters. We finally had our chance. Alex wasn’t being so mischievous and was actually being good and manageable.
We saw the last full show at Festival Mall Cinema 1. This is because Anson and I both cannot stand watching an entire movie in 3D, which is the one available at ATC. The last time we watched in 3D was when we saw The Owls of Ga’Hoole, and boy did our old eyes suffer.
We love how the movie was presented and how the story was told. I am so glad it was Kenneth Branagh who directed the movie. There is something Shakespearean about the movie, I can’t point my finger on, but it worked out so perfectly.
Just one thing, the staff handling the projector should probably put more effort. The image on screen was not properly focused. The top part was, but not the bottom half. Also, the speakers need to be recalibrated. It’s either the speaker in front the one in the middle is louder than the others, or they have to put in some more treble. Basag ang audio.
Besides those, watching Thor was enjoyable. However, I would like to experience it again in a different theater, with better audio.
