I woke up about twenty or thirty minutes ago, too early, I should say, considering school hasn’t started yet for Alex. It is now 5:20 on my computer’s clock.

I have chores to do today but that can wait a bit more. Let me post some photos from last night, when we had dinner at Las Paellas Cafe in Festival Mall.

while waiting for our order

We’re not particularly fond of Festival Mall, but we had an errand to do – to buy undershirts, briefs and socks for Alex. He doesn’t really need the Rustan’s Jr brand for those things. For heaven’s sake, their undershirts are PHP225 for a pack of two. So in order to get so much more for the same price, we skipped ATC last night and opted to go to Festival Mall instead.

There was not any restaurant we particularly like at Festival Mall, with the exception of Racks (everybody loves Racks, right?). We did try Tia Maria’s last month, and it was an okay experience. So, the matter of where to have dinner was quite a lengthy discussion. In the end, we chose Las Paellas Cafe.

They have free wi-fi.

There is free wi-fi in the restaurant, so we were kept busy while waiting for our orders.

French Onion Soup - Las Paellas Cafe

French Onion Soup

For starters, we ordered two bowls of the French Onion Soup, one bowl for Anson and the other bowl for me and Alex. I did not quite like it and was not able to finish it.

Fish and Chips came next. The fish was cooked perfectly, I enjoyed it so much. Anson was looking for something more from it, but to me, it was simply delicious.

We ordered Chicken Schnitzel for Alex. He already had Pastitsio the other night, so we stayed away from pasta, to try something different. In any case, the chicken was more than satisfactory. The creamy sauce was so yummy Alex had a blast with his dinner. I think I would have to order that for myself the next time we visit Las Paellas.

Anson initially ordered their Longanisa, but it was not available last night so he chose Angus Tapa instead. It was delicious, but the meat was a bit too chewy that he said it was too much work for his jaw. Awww.

My order was Fillet Mignon. I loved it so much – the meat was cooked medium rare and it was juicy. The mashed potatoes are awesome. Really, what can go wrong with mashed potatoes?

After dinner, we went to Robinson’s Department Store for Alex’s things. We had to shell out PHP 1,700 for nine undershirts, three plain white t-shirts, six briefs and six pairs of socks. Not bad, I guess.

On the way home I sent a text message to my massage therapist, Amie. I needed a massage so badly. I was lucky she was available last night, even if it was already a bit late.

Slept soundly.

So now I am up. Early to bed, early to rise, I guess.
