The annual shopping for new school shoes and bag is unavoidable. We did that today.

There’s nowhere else better to shop than ATC.

The most pressing need for school are the school bag and the black leather shoes. Thankfully, Rustan’s carries Florsheim Kids.

We initially wanted a different style, but there’s no stock for Alex’s size, which is 29. However, there are a lot of great styles available for boys’ shoes (surprisingly), and we picked the one pictured above. It cost us around PHP 1,700 but I think it is money well spent for good leather shoes which my son can use for an entire school year.

Now on to the issue of school bags. Alex is crazy about getting one which has Lightning McQueen on it. But Anson and I felt that there would be a lot of kids in school with Lightning for school bags. So we got this Tron bag from National Bookstore ATC, worth PHP 1,100.

I love the bag, actually. And Anson was right when he said the colors were muted. It looks like a classic boy’s school bag.

We did a bit more shopping for the smaller items – pencils, pencil case, a box of crayons, envelopes, folders – same old, same old, the usual school supplies.

Then came dinner. At our usual place.

at our usual spot

We were seated at our favorite spot in the restaurant, lucky for us, because the place is almost full when we got there. Which was a little past six o’clock in the evening

We went home with lighter walllets. What we got in return are full stomachs after a hearty meal… and a happy little face that belongs to our excited preschooler.

I love life.
