Living the Good Life

We love dining out. Table for three, please.

KFC, Cyma, Starbucks – all in one day

After that really awful mood swing episode the other day, and an awful lot of crying (from me) yesterday morning, hubby came home early yesterday, bearing gifts. I mean food.

On his way home, he called me up, asking what I wanted to eat. Chicken, I said. Fastfood chicken.

I got my chicken.

KFC for lunch

KFC for lunch!

Had some family bonding time – watched the season premiere of White Collar and laughed and cuddled a lot.

Peace.

Late afternoon is always the time when the “What are we going to have for dinner?” “Where do you want to eat?” “No, you choose where we’ll eat tonight” debate.

Burgers on a Rainy Day

Rain poured down hard in my area yesterday. I was supposed to be up very early because the gardener was scheduled to work on the grass. But the bed weather was so inviting I woke up late. I did not know until before lunchtime that he did not come by at all because, well, it was raining and of course he could not work in that weather condition. So we rescheduled.

I spent the morning doing some chores. Among those was putting together Alex’s grooming kit for school. I know they said “shoebox” in the list, but I very much prefer plastic box. So the last time we were at ATC, we bought a plastic shoebox in Ace Hardware.

In any case morning was somewhatproductive.

Afternoon had me working on this blog for a new design. Looks fresh and clean, doesn’t it? Boring no more. Still, I have some other knick knacks to add to the sidebar. Bit by bit, let me work on it.

By mid-afternoon, I was craving for a cheeseburger. I ordered online from McDelivery, received the order confirmation via text message and waited until my Double Cheese Burger came. Alex had a Burger McDo and large fries. Yummy.

Things went downhill for me by early evening. And because it is very sensitive in nature, I hope you understand why I am skipping it. Suffice it to say that I feel very, very exhausted and frustrated.

I wonder what will happen today?

Cyma, we’re on a roll.

We were just there the other night.

Cyma, Alabang Town Center

You know what’s worse than a takeout turning into dine in? It is thinking you were all going to tone down a bit and eat burgers and fries at Burger King but instead turned your noses around and eat Greek cuisine.

Dinner at Las Paellas Cafe

I woke up about twenty or thirty minutes ago, too early, I should say, considering school hasn’t started yet for Alex. It is now 5:20 on my computer’s clock.

I have chores to do today but that can wait a bit more. Let me post some photos from last night, when we had dinner at Las Paellas Cafe in Festival Mall.

while waiting for our order

We’re not particularly fond of Festival Mall, but we had an errand to do – to buy undershirts, briefs and socks for Alex. He doesn’t really need the Rustan’s Jr brand for those things. For heaven’s sake, their undershirts are PHP225 for a pack of two. So in order to get so much more for the same price, we skipped ATC last night and opted to go to Festival Mall instead.

What started out as a takeaway…

… ended up dining in the restaurant.

Cyma

The Accidental Cyma Dinner

I initially wanted hummus and some pita bread. I hinted it to Anson this morning by showing him a blog post with a recipe for hummus. As always he picked it up just as soon as he saw the page. We decided he would drop by Cyma to order some for takeaway.

On his way home he called me to confirm if I still want hummus. I said yes. Then he asked if I wanted some Spinach and Artichoke Fondue as well, and had me look up the price on the Cyma website.

I was more than surprised when he said, “What if we dined in the restaurant tonight?”

I reminded him we were only to have a bit of a takeaway tonight, in addition to what I was supposed to be cooking. But he already made up his mind and told me to get Alex and myself ready, and that he would call the restaurant to make a reservation.
